Call It Stupidity? Maybe Five Die In Terrible Accident In Ogudu Lagos

Check out this mysterious accident that was happned early Sunday morining it was claimed that the guys driving the vehicles wanted to embark on a car race. From an eye witness account it was gathered it happened around Ogudu road Ojota just in front of Stanbic IBTC bank at about 1am today but with the evidence shown they were dead drunk and so were driving at jet speed. more pictures below...

Meet 24 year Old Claire Leeson Who Spent $30,000 To Look Like Her Idol, Kim K.

 

24 year old Claire Leeson, a London resident has spent almost £20,000 (more than $30,000) in plastic surgery to look more like her idol, Kim K.

She told This Morning that one of the main reasons she decided to look like Kim was because she was bullied and called ugly in school.

"I was told every day that I was the ‘ugliest thing alive' and I should ‘kill myself. When I left school friends would tell me that I had a resemblance to Kim.So, I watched [Keeping Up With the Kardashians] and realized I had the same amount of siblings and that we have the same kind of arguments and things going on. I thought she was so beautiful and I really wanted to be like her."

FIFA Rankings: Germany Climbs To No 1 Spot; Nigeria Climbs 10 Spots To 34th Position

Germany has climbed to the top of the FIFA rankings after winning the World Cup for the first time in 24 years.

The four-time champions, who beat Argentina 1-0 at the Maracana on Sunday, have replaced Spain in first place as well as succeeding them as world champions.

Argentina and the Netherlands complete the new-look top three. Spain’s title defense surprisingly ended in the group stage, and the team has dropped to eighth place.
First-round exits also led to Portugal going down seven places to 11th, Italy dropping five to 14th and England falling 10 spots to 20th.

African champions, Super Eagles of Nigeria, moved up 10 places to 34th position on the rankings and 3rd in Africa. Algeria regained number 1 spot in Africa but dropped down two places in the world rankings to 24th while Cote d’Ivoire retained 2nd position in Africa, but dropped 2 spots to 25th position in the world. Egypt and Ghana completed the top 5 rankings in Africa, ranking 36th and 38th respectively.

Lagos State Govt. Approves Six-Months Maternity Leave and 10-Days Paternity Leave For Fathers

The Lagos State Government has extended maternity leave for female civil servants to 6 months and introduced a 10-day paternity leave for fathers.
The state head of service, Mrs. Josephine Williams, speaking at a joint press conference at the Bagauda Kaltho Press Centre, Alausa on Thursday, July 17, 2014 said the new leave regime was meant to reduce the negative implication of the extensive work life of parents, who are civil servants in the state.
“A female officer shall be entitled to twenty-four weeks maternity leave with full pay in case of her first two deliveries. The said leave shall commence, at least two weeks before the expected delivery date; a male officer, to who a new baby (or babies in case of multiple births) is born shall be entitled to 10 working days,” Williams said.
She added that subsequent deliveries by any employees would attract only 12 weeks maternity leave for the female officer, while the male officer would not be entitled to the 10-day leave.
The special adviser to the governor on public health, Dr. Yewande Adeshina, said the six-month leave will enable the nursing female public servants implement the recommended six months exclusive breast feeding.
She said, “At six months or 24 weeks, a baby is considered strong enough to be left in decent crèche for proper care having gone through close affection and nurturing by mother.”

Mad Man Caught With Explosives In Obafemi Awolowo University Hostel (photos)

                      

A man identified as Adedayo Rasaki Daniel, who claims to be a mad man, was on Sunday allegedly caught with explosive substances around one of the hostels at the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, Osun State. He was caught with explosive materials including petrol, wires, stove, and newspapers at about 1pm by the students of the OAU.
