President Goodluck Jonathan has lauded world leaders for attending World Economic Forum for Africa in the face of terror threats.
President Jonathan at the high-level closing plenary of Grow Africa, with the theme: “A Leadership Agenda for Investing in African Agriculture,” held at the Sheraton Hotels, Abuja, commended the participants for not giving in to the threat of terror and accepting to attend the forum and the WEF team for not cancelling the event.
Speaking on the importance of Agriculture as a business, President Jonathan who was among the panellists including Presidents of Tanzania, Jakaya Kiweta, Paul Kigame of Rwanda, Boni Yayi of Benin Republic and Prime Minister of Cote d’Ivoire, Daniel Duncan, said Nigeria was committed to self-sufficiency in rice production by 2015-2016 for domestic and export.
He assured that his administration was committed to move Agriculture from rural activity to business that creates wealth, hence Nigeria’s focus on treating agriculture as a business.
